IACA is pleased to announce that Neos is joining the International Air Carrier Association (IACA) as a full member.
The Italian carrier, which launched in 2002, is based at Malpensa Airport in Milan with two hubs at Bologna Airport and Verona Airport. The airline operates leisure flights to Southern Europe, Russia, Africa, Middle East, Far East, the Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil and has five Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 767-300 in its fleet.
Welcoming the airline to IACA, the association's Director General, Sylviane Lust said:
“We are thrilled that Neos has joined IACA. We are looking forward to working with Neos Air and advising and assisting the airline on a range of aeropolitical, operational and technical issues in the future.”
“In these difficult times, it is even more essential for airlines to work together to address common issues and tackle problems with a united front. Italy is an important market for tourism and we are very pleased to have another Italian member.”
Answering the question as to why Neos has joined IACA, the airline's Managing Director, Carlo Stradiotti said:
“Neos is glad to be a part of IACA. As national borders have disappeared and are now part of the EU, leisure airlines really need stronger visibility in the aviation industry because of commercial and operational peculiarities and requirements compared to other aviation business models. Neos aims to be proactive within IACA!”
