Aircraft Operator Liaison Cell (AOLC)
A significant element of Eurocontrol’s Network Manager's operational organisation is the integration of airlines into operations. This is done via the Air Operators Liaison Cell (AOLC). This cell is staffed by two airline association representatives - currently IACA and IATA.
The cell is the focal point for airlines to obtain strategic information about the airspace and the air traffic flow and capacity management (ATFCM) situation in Europe. Tactical information can be retrieved from the Aircraft Operator Liaison Officer who is included in the 24/7 operations of the Network Manager. The AOLC is the main point of contact for the airlines concerning any ATFCM measures.
The AOLC liaises with Eurocontrol operational services, aircraft operators and air traffic management providers, follows up on any repetitive problems affecting airlines and monitors the equity of flow management process. The AOLC is a strategic instrument for airlines to develop the European ATM Network according to their needs.
